The NBHC is gearing up for the 2012 event season. The MLK Tribute Series will include the Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast, to be held January 5, 2012 , 8:00 AM, Sun City Grand Cimmaron Center, Gila Rm 17100 W. Clearview Dr. Surprise, AZ  Dr. Irene Kovala, President of Glendale Community College will be the keynote presenter.  

This event is coordinated in partnership with the City of Surprise.

 

The MLK Tribute Series continues with the "Evening with a King" dinner in Peoria January 12, 7:00 PM at, Rio Vista Community Park and Recreation Center, located at  8866 W. Thunderbird Rd.  Dr. Harold Bailey, New Mexico, Executive Director of African American Affairs, will be the keynote presenter. The event is supported by the City of Peoria Diversity Committee. 

 

The 2012 Black History Celebration and Festival returns to Peoria after  a year long construction and renovation project to down town Peoria which includes, Independents Plaza and  Osuna Park. The festival and celebration is scheduled for, February 25, 2012, from  12 PM to 8 PM, at Osuna Park, 83rd Ave and Grand. The event includes live music, vendors, kids zone and much more. The event season culminates with the annual Multicultural Music Festival, scheduled for April 21, at the new 14 acre Gateway Park in El Mirage, Arizona. Over 200 performing artists will take the stage in various genres of music including: Jazz, Blues,Gospel, Pop, Tejana, Western and other music.  Parking and admissions are free. Check back for updates as lineup is being confirmed. The event is sponsored in partnership with the City of El Mirage.
